On Saturday October 31st, the Varsity Boys Cross Country team competed in the State Meet at Heathwood Hall. Every member of the Boys team set a personal record(PR) at the State Meet.
Seventh grader William Cochrane set the pace for the entire team as he ran the fastest 5K race of any Crusader this season, posting a time of 20:24.32. Sophomore Connor Vanhoosier placed second on the team while finishing with a career best time of 22:04.70. This season was VanHoosier’s fourth with the team. Sixth grader Noah Greene finished third for the Crusaders with a time of 22:49.05, which beat his best race time by more than a minute and a half. Seventh grader Tyler Shick concluded his strong second half of the season by finishing with a time of 22:57.52. Three newcomers to the team also made strides at the meet to post PRs. Haydn Hutto finished fifth on the team with a time of 23:03.76, Max Thomas finished with a time of 23:18.06, and Ethan Lafave finished with a time of 23:21.39, respectively.
All of the runners were pleased with their times, and they are all excited to keep improving as they set their sights on the 2021 season.
