On October 1st, the Boys and Girls Varsity Cross Country Teams traveled to Great Falls to take on an extremely tough course. The Crusaders were up for the challenge, as the Girls Varsity won a race for the first time in school history, while the Boys team finished third respectively. Averaging the results together, the teams combined for a second place finish.
The Girls continue to be lead by sophomore Ella Jeffrey who finished first overall with a time of 23:50.60. Placing second and third in the race overall were teammates Bayleigh Womack (24:41.60), and Kaitlynn Ford (25:03.20). Natalie Walke rounded out the Girls Varsity Team in the meet where she finished fifth overall in the race with a time of 27:13.20. This was the first time any four runners all finished in the top ten at any race in the school’s history.
Over on the Boys Varsity Team, seventh grader William Cochrane paced the team (and all Northside runners) with a time of 23:16.70 and a ninth place finish. This is the first time Cochrane has lead both teams in 5K time in his young career. Sophomore Connor VanHoosier finished second on the team and 14th overall in the race with a time of 24:40.40. Rounding out the race for the team was sixth grader Noah Greene who finished with a time of 27:45.50, while finishing 24th overall.
