Game Recap

The Northside Varsity Boys won again on Friday night, this time in conference play over South Aiken Baptist. The NCA Crusaders have now won 10 of their last 11 games. The game against the Crusaders from South Aiken wasn’t easy as Northside appeared noticeably emotionally drained after two tough non-conference wins previously during the week. Coach Harman attempted to rest injured starter Noah Powell for the entire game but with the game still in doubt midway through the 3rd quarter, Harman inserted Powell into the lineup for the first time. The Crusaders immediately responded and went up by 15 points within a matter of minutes. Donny Chiarel led the Crusaders with 19 points. Every Crusader played on this night as the game was able to be used to build depth for the future. Coach Harman stated, “Give South Aiken credit. They played extremely hard and we didn’t match their intensity tonight. At the end of the day, it’s a win and I just hope we can finally get Ty Walker back next week.”

The Crusaders (12-6 overall, 6-2 conference) aim to lock up the #2 seed in the region next week with final home games of the season against Wardlaw on Tuesday and Curtis Baptist on Friday night.
